Machinist

Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC and other machine tools to produce accurate, high-quality parts according to technical drawings and specifications.

Duties

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, charts, and work orders.
• Determine the required machining operations and sequence of work.
• Measure and lay out workpieces according to specifications.
• Calculate dimensions, measurements, and tolerances to ensure accurate machining.
• Set up and operate CNC and other machine tools.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, tooling, and equipment.
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, speeds, and feeds as required.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect finished workpieces to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Education

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Technical or trade training in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical trades may be selected as an asset if available

Experience

• 1 to 3 years
• Machining, CNC operation, fabrication, manufacturing, mechanical work, or similar industrial experience
