The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Cleaner to support our Childcare Centre in Quispamsis. In this role, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. This position plays an important part in ensuring our childcare space remains healthy and well-maintained at all times.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in cleanliness, works independently, and is available to work evenings between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Additional flexibility may be required depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities 

• Maintain cleanliness, neatness, and organization of the childcare centre
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, washrooms, and common areas
• Empty garbage and recycling bins
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors and surfaces
• Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and equipment as required
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue products
• Follow cleaning procedures and safety standards
• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for children and staff
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor

Skills and Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience (childcare or commercial setting an asset)
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a physically active environment
• WHMIS certification is an asset (training provided if needed)
• First Aid/CPR/AED is an asset or willingness to obtain
• Must be able to provide a clean Criminal Record Check
