The Opportunity
The County of Forty Mile is seeking a motivated and reliable cleaner to join our team. Reporting to the Park Manager, the 40 Mile Park Cleaner is responsible for providing effective and efficient janitorial and housekeeping services at park bathrooms and other facilities. This role supports the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the park to ensure a high-quality experience for visitors.
This posting is for up to two temporary positions, which may be part-time, and are expected to run until approximately September 2026, depending on operational requirements and weather conditions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of park bathrooms and facilities, both indoors and outdoors.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, showers, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning methods and supplies.
Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and high-touch surfaces; empty waste containers and replace liners.
Replenish washroom supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
Identify and report maintenance issues, damages, hazards, and policy infractions to the supervisor.
Perform periodic deep cleaning, particularly during peak periods and around long weekends.
Operate a County vehicle within the park to transport equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition, and report any issues.
Support general labour and maintenance activities to assist with the upkeep of park facilities and County assets.
Adhere to all applicable legislation, County policies, and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and participation in safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Valid Class 5 driverâs license and acceptable driverâs abstract.
Relevant work experience is preferred; however, equivalent combinations of skills and experience will be considered.
Ability to work independently and under supervision, including after-hours or in response to operational needs.
Ability to safely use basic tools and equipment related to cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with the public and coworkers.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, including following safe work practices and procedures.
