Lead Cleaner

We are looking for a Lead Cleaner to join our Residential team in Yellowknife, NT. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be critical to our delivery of world-class customer service in our buildings that depict pride of ownership and respect for our residents. While following our Health and Safety precautions, this position will lead a team of cleaners as well as clean vacant suites and provide regular cleaning of common areas of buildings thus allowing us to deliver on our promises to our residents to have a safe and clean place in which to live.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of cleaners, coordinating daily schedules, work orders and completion of paperwork

• Cleaning common areas, guest rooms, vacant and renovated suites
• Cleaning includes but is not limited to:

o dusting

o vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets and area rugs

o disinfecting & polishing kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

o washing walls, windows, window coverings and ceilings

o cleaning cupboards and cabinets

• Accommodating requests related to cleaning
• Maintaining a trash and debris free environment
• May assist with removal of snow off walkways and common areas where applicable
• May include carpet cleaning using industrial cleaners or chemical treatments
• May be part of an on-call rotation
• Other duties relating to upkeep of buildings as assigned

Qualifications:

• A self-motivated individual who can work independently and takes pride in their work
• Previous experience working in environments that can be very dirty
• Experience leading teams and coordinating work
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to lift 30lbs, work with industrial strength cleaners and climb stairs with equipment and supplies
• A driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Able to provide a criminal record check that is free of relevant convictions
• Able to work overtime or on call as needed
