Job Description

Summary:

As a Facility Cleaner you will ensure common areas of the manufacturing facility and warehouse utilized

daily are cleaned and sanitized within Good Manufacturing Practices.

Essential Functions:

▪ Perform daily cleaning of production, lab, warehouse, office, and washroom areas of the facility as per

the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

▪ Daily upkeeps general areas including dusting, window cleaning, polishing of fixtures, along with

manage customer requests for cleaning, waste disposal, moving, replacement of lights, and other

miscellaneous facility requests in a timely manner.

▪ Perform waste disposal and recycling services.

▪ Maintain exterior of building including removing of debris, sweeping of walkways, snow removal and

salting of walkways during the winter season, and cleaning of patio area.

▪ Accurately sign all Good Manufacturing Practices cleaning records and documentation.

▪ Ensure regular replenishing of all facility dispensers including paper, soap, and production garments.

▪ Maintain inventory of all cleaning and maintenance supplies.

▪ Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.

▪ Perform alternating or rotating shift work (as required)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Required: No previous work experience required

Preferred: Previous experience in janitorial services, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food processing

environment

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to maintain accurate records

of activities. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing

Practices an asset. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with

the English language.

Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work collaboratively with fellow team

members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives.

Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems Standard Operating Procedures

(SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.

Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual

management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key

Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system

improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating

the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement

in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner. Consistently strives

to improve skills and knowledge in related field.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about

manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods

of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger

dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit,

reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable

environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things

as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes, or odour. Use of Personal Protective equipment is required and

may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety

apron, respirator.

Compensation

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Canada is $32,600.00–$48,500.00.
