To represent Chartwell Retirement Residences as a Janitor to perform office cleaning
Key Activities
Office Areas
Remove all litter and debris and vacuum all carpeted areas.
Dust and clean elevator walls and controls and vacuum and wash elevator tracks.
Push mop / pick up bag and broom floor and refuse, including lounges, entrance ways, stairways and cafeteria.
Empty, clean and reline waste receptacles as required.
Wet mop floors with proper cleaning agent.
Scrub floors using “walk behind” and/or “ride on” scrubbers.
Pick up debris from grounds.
Work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Washrooms
Thoroughly wash and disinfect all washroom walls and fixtures including urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, dispensers, waste receptacles, stall partitions, and counters.
Clean and polish push all washroom push and kick plates, and wet mop floor.
Clean and stock all toilet paper, hand towel paper, soap dispensers and sanitary dispensers.
Common Areas
Dust and wash all counters, fronts, walls and doors, furniture,
Clean and polish all furniture including lounges, tables and chairs, frames, legs and bases.
Spot clean glass windows and door
Customer Service

Comply with Employee Handbook, uniform, and grooming standards at all times.
Communication
Report any special occurrences or discrepancies to Building Operation / Facilities Manager.
Advise Facilities Manager of any occurrences which may compromise or be damaging to positive customer relations.
Inform Team Lead of any occurrences which may impede operational efficiency.
Report damaged equipment or property to Team Lead or Manager.
Identify and recommend opportunities for improving service or operational performance to Team Lead or Facilities Manager.
Other related service duties or responsibilities may be assigned based on business requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Minimum Grade 12
Functional – Office building experience, 1 – 2 years
Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate with supervisors orally and through written text in order to fulfill work requirements. (Documenting tasks and inspections)
Must possess a strong attention to detail in order to thoroughly clean facilities and perform duties
Ability to stay motivated when completing routine tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision
Exercise judgement and discretion when carrying out duties
Able to use basic cleaning equipment
Previous cleaning experience an asset
Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
