As a Parts Cleaner, you will perform chemical and mechanical cleaning of parts and other metal products by hand, solvent bath or other processes to remove unwanted materials.

What you’ll do:

  • Operate and learn industrial cleaning methods including solvent hand cleaning, chemical cleaning, grit blasting, and mechanical cleaning processes in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.

  • Operate and maintain metal cleaning equipment such as vapor blasters, wheelabrators, deburring systems, and blast cabinets.

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final cleaning of metal components, including drying using hot water, forced air, or oven systems.

  • Monitor and maintain chemical cleaning tanks, including performing titration tests and recording chemical concentrations per required specifications.

  • Prepare, mask, and protect surfaces prior to cleaning and non-destructive testing processes.

  • Sort, identify, and segregate metal parts according to required cleaning processes and specifications.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper waste disposal in accordance with environmental and safety procedures.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in related manufacturing or finishing processes.

  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, and report hazards, equipment issues, or process deviations immediately.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis (up to 33% of shift) with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions in English with basic comprehension sufficient to complete assigned tasks after training.

  • Ability to perform basic computer functions such as entering data, completing simple forms, or following digital checklists after training.

  •  Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, and machinery while using required PPE for all applicable tasks after training is provided.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

  • Experience with or understanding of chemical titration methods.

  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazardous material handling procedures.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing documentation such as MSDS/SDS labels, work instructions, and OEM manuals.

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
