As a Parts Cleaner, you will perform chemical and mechanical cleaning of parts and other metal products by hand, solvent bath or other processes to remove unwanted materials.
What you’ll do:
Operate and learn industrial cleaning methods including solvent hand cleaning, chemical cleaning, grit blasting, and mechanical cleaning processes in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
Operate and maintain metal cleaning equipment such as vapor blasters, wheelabrators, deburring systems, and blast cabinets.
Perform incoming, in-process, and final cleaning of metal components, including drying using hot water, forced air, or oven systems.
Monitor and maintain chemical cleaning tanks, including performing titration tests and recording chemical concentrations per required specifications.
Prepare, mask, and protect surfaces prior to cleaning and non-destructive testing processes.
Sort, identify, and segregate metal parts according to required cleaning processes and specifications.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper waste disposal in accordance with environmental and safety procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in related manufacturing or finishing processes.
Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, and report hazards, equipment issues, or process deviations immediately.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis (up to 33% of shift) with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions in English with basic comprehension sufficient to complete assigned tasks after training.
Ability to perform basic computer functions such as entering data, completing simple forms, or following digital checklists after training.
Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, and machinery while using required PPE for all applicable tasks after training is provided.
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Experience with or understanding of chemical titration methods.
Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazardous material handling procedures.
Knowledge of manufacturing documentation such as MSDS/SDS labels, work instructions, and OEM manuals.
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
